Pecans are best purchased in bulk from a local produce farm. I usually buy pieces and toast them as soon as I get them. Toasting brings out the flavor so I use toasted pecans in all my recipes that call for them.

Toast all pecans to bring out flavor in recipes.

- pecans whole or pieces
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
- Spread pecans on baking sheet.
- Place pecans in oven and bake for 15 minutes. Stir pecans once during baking.
- Remove from oven and cool. Store in plastic bag in the refrigerator or freezer.
