Do You Want To Be Healthy?

God gave us the most perfect food to provide us with nutrients to sustain us.  Wheat is one of the most perfect foods yet in the 1920’s, man took out the bran and wheat germ to make flour more shelf stable.  The most nutritious part was fed to the animals. After cases of nutrition deficiency diseases, the government required nutrients to be added. Four vitamins were replaced for the 25-30 that were removed.  This solved the problem of beriberi and pellagra, however, a host of health problems have evolved from consuming white flour including gluten intolerance, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, dementia and Alzheimers.  

My mission is more than making sourdough bread to enjoy or to bless someone.  I want people to eat healthy bread to feed their bodies and soul.  Why do we avoid eating bread just because it is all carbohydrates, sugar, dough enhancers and more that cause weight gain, bloating and digestive problems? The supporting research is there.  I encourage you to look up websites, YouTube and medical journals for yourself.

So what can you do?  Start supporting small businesses that make healthy bread,  provide raw milk products and farmers that sell fresh vegetables, farm raised beef and organic products.  Start reading labels to decide what you want to put in your bodies.  It may not have an effect on you while you are young but as you age, the way you eat catches up with you.  I always taught, “you are what you eat”.  I realize the truth in that statement.
