  • 1 can 14 ounce Fire Roasted Tomatoes
  • 1 can 10 ounce diced tomatoes and green chilies
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 small Jalapeño halved and seeds removed
  • 1/8 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice


  • Combine both cans of tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, garlic, sugar, salt, cumin, cilantro, and lime juice in a deep bowl. Use the immersion blender and pulse until you get the consistency you like. Test seasonings with a tortilla chip and add if needed.
  • Serve immediately with tortilla chips and store leftovers in the refrigerator.
